SDTC runs a competitive process where applications are assessed and compared against other funding applications on an ongoing basis to determine the most appropriate allocation of SDTC’s funding. This includes the applicant’s ability to demonstrate that their proposed project can deliver significant and quantifiable environmental and economic benefits.

Who can get funding?
- Canadian Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).Funding requests from a majority-owned Canadian subsidiary of a foreign multinational enterprise are not eligible.
- Applicant companies that own or have rights to a novel technology.
- Companies with technology that delivers quantifiable sustainability benefits to Canada.
