June 20, 2018
Edmonton – Leah Lawrence, P.Eng., was recognized with the Centennial Leadership Award by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) at the Summit Awards in Edmonton last night.
A mentor with International Women’s Forum (IWF) and Ernst & Young Women Athletes Business Network, and Ottawa chapter chair of IWF Canada, Lawrence supports women’s leadership locally and globally.
Lawrence has spent more than 20 years advocating for and supporting entrepreneurship, engineering and the environment. In 2003, she founded a company focused on climate change technologies in Canada, and in 2015, she took a seat at the head of the table at Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). With her as president and CEO, SDTC received the single biggest one-time investment in its history.
The APEGA Summit Awards honour leading individuals and projects in professional engineering and geoscience for their role in building stronger communities across Alberta.
